Dr. Patrick Staehler
Profile:
Dr. Stähler is founder and partner of the strategy consultancy and think tanks fluidminds – the business innovators. He holds a PhD and a master in management from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. Patrick Stähler coined the term business model innovation as a new type of disruptive strategy in his PhD thesis at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland in 2001. During his academic career, he studied at the Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden and at Yonsei University, Seoul in Korea. His professional career started at Deutsche Bank and Lazard Frères as an investment banker with focus on M& A. Later he was member of management at Swisscom IT Services, where he was in charge of strategy development for the financial service arm, COMIT. Today, COMIT is the largest IT service company for the banking sector in Switzerland. Besides consulting, he regularly conducts workshops about business model innovation for various audiences and is lecturing the Executive MBA of the Otto Group – one of the largest mail order houses in the world – at Leuphana University of Lueneburg/ Germany.
